Laughter was a huge part of my life growing up, and still is today! Even our moments of grief were tinted with shades of laughter. It took a very special woman to teach me that laughter and joy can color your life and make it much more brilliant. That woman shines brightly as one of the most colorful and vibrant people in my life, and without her abundance of wit, mischievousness, and creativity, my life would be a shell of what it is today. The stories she has provided either by purposeful, well thought out planning, or by happy accident will be family legend for generations to come. My mom is beautiful, talented, and outrageous.

This is my tribute to M.O.M. My Outrageous Mother.

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

M.O.M.

Growing up, I knew I was different from all the other kids.  Oh, not different in some kind of tragic sense, not by any means.  My friends all loved hanging around my house, not because I had the newest most exciting toys, or the most trendy clothing, oh no, nothing like that at all.  We didn’t even have cable until I was a teenager!  While other kids were watching MTV, I was raptly listening to my mother, learning from her humor, wit, and mischievousness.   This made my home appealing to my friends, and the friends of my sister.   I have a confession to make though.  What our friends saw growing up, was pretty tame compared to what we knew from the inside.  These are the stories we experienced and that were passed down from M.O.M.  Yes, My Outrageous Mother.

Having thought about this for a long time, I realized that there are categories to M.O.M.  There are the Experiments in Devious Conducts of Humor, Spontaneous Acts of Unintentional Humor, and Wickedly Funny Witticisms.

By the way, names have been changed to protect the guilty, and they've been changed a LOT to protect the really guilty.
